Understanding the IR35 Rules...it's not as straight forward as
it sounds!
If you are new to contracting and currently weighing up your
options, you may be in need of some advice, especially if you have
started to read about the IR35 rules. If you set up your own
limited company, which is currently the most common route for most
contractors, you will need to take IR35 into account and if you
haven't already - you should get some professional advice about the
IR35 rules before it's too late. IR35 can be potentially
damaging to a business so it is imperative if you run your own
limited company that you learn about IR35 and how you can avoid
being burnt by it. However, although IR35 is extremely
daunting, especially if you are new to contracting, don't let this
scare you into believing that you are automatically caught by the
legislation as this certainly may not be the case. You may
wish to avoid the IR35 rules altogether and opt to use an umbrella
or PAYE company in order to carry out your services. This
would be a perfectly comprehensible option and here at Nasa
Consulting, we can advise you of the best route that suits you and
your personal situation. We offer accounting solutions should
you wish to go down the limited company route or we have our own
umbrella system, 'Nasa Umbrella' for those clients who want all the
hassle and burden of running a business, including the IR35 rules,
completely removed.
