As a contractor, it can be difficult trying to weigh up your
options especially if you are trying to decide whether to use an
umbrella or ltd company. Both options have their positives
and negatives as with anything and deciding
between umbrella verses ltd company can be a tough decision to
make. Obviously, if you set up your own ltd company, you have
more control over your business and financial needs but with that
comes a lot more business and financial administration and
responsibility. The umbrella solution essentially means that
you will become an employee of the umbrella company, taking a
salary (and usually other employment related benefits) but with
very little administration or responsibility. Also, the
headache of IR35 is completely removed, which is a big plus.
